LASCU receives the 2022 Chamber Community Partner Award
Los Alamos Schools Credit Union was voted as the 2022 Chamber Community Partner Award Winner by the Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members were nominated by the public and the top five nominated businesses in each category moved on to the voting phase. There were hundreds of votes cast by the public.

Los Alamos Schools Credit Union was voted 2020 Financial Institution Business of the Year through Los Alamos Chamber Business Awards. We are honored to hold this award.

Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award
The prestigious Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Services Award is given to a credit union for its practical application of credit union philosophy within the actual operation of the credit union. It is awarded annually by the Credit Union National Association for internal programs and services that benefit membership. Credit unions receive the award for programs or policies that demonstrate their commitment to the practical application of the “People-Helping-People” philosophy.
Los Alamos Schools Credit Union was awarded one of four first-place Louise Herring Awards in 2019 for creating a mobile solution — a tablet — that enables staff to take the branch with them to provide services in the field. Matt Schmidt, along with the other three full-time staff of LASCU and one representative of the Board, were all present to accept the award at a ceremony held in Washington D.C. in March of 2019.
When Schmidt returned from the award ceremony, he expressed his gratitude to the other local credit unions who helped cover LASCU’s staffing needs which allowed all of the LASCU staff to attend the awards ceremony.
